Light Polymers is a Silicon Valley nanochemistry startup innovating groundbreaking products and applications using lyotropic materials. The global LED lighting market will grow to $133B by 2020 as LED technology has become a ubiquitous part of our everyday lives. Light Polymers revolutionary downconversion technology means LED lights are now a truly cost effective replacement for incandescent and CCFL lighting.
LEDInside spent some time with Marc McConnaughey, CEO and President of Light Polymers and Bryan Chang, Vice President of Light Polymers discussing upcoming Light Polymers lighting products. Marc and Brian demonstrated Crystallin® LED downlight products with CRI color rendering index of 98+ while sporting an affordable and competitive MSRP. Using Crystallin® technology, based on Light Polymers lyotropic materials, the downlight has less color shift and better lumen maintenance than current downlights on the market, while using 20% less electricity for the same output.
Crystallin® downlights will be available through select distributors in Asia in August and debut in the US in October. Visit www.crystallinlighting.com for more details on how you can define, and have Light Polymers make, a spectrum specific custom downlight.
